Sign up to be a local youth volunteer with Sierra Service Project!
SSP, as many people call it, is a youth based nonprofit that organizes teenage volunteers to serve in communities across the Western United States. Teams of church youth groups from all over come together for six weeks of service. They build wheelchair ramps, stairs, and woodsheds, repairs roofs and paint homes. They also spend the week exploring their personal faith and how service fits into their journey.
The goal is to strengthen communities through serving one another. You can be a part of this work! Young people not only learn how to use power tools and how to work together as a team, but they also learn about a community new to them and its history, current news and future plans. By volunteering with SSP, you can be an ambassador for your community.
Practice being a leader and build your resume. Spend a week volunteering with SSP this summer!

You will be assigned to the same work team for the entire week. One or two adults will lead your team made up of five to seven other youth. Some weeks are high school or middle school students only, and other weeks host both age groups together. With any age group, you will be looked to as a leader because of your knowledge of your community.
No experience is needed at the work site. We hire a staff of seven young adult staff members who are trained in how to use tools safely and how to complete home repairs.
