Volunteers Needed
We currently have a lot of in-progress projects we need your help completing: fence replacements, community garden installations, and more. This summer we will offer Days of Service in both North Sacramento and Rancho Cordova with our community partners.
Days of Service are for youth, young adults, and intergenerational teams. Everyone 6th grade and up is welcome to join. Youth under the age of 18 need parent permission. SSP can provide bus passes as needed.
Volunteers can sign up with a group (North Sacramento only). Each volunteer needs to complete a waiver to participate.
NOTE: Rancho Cordova Day of Service program for youth is FULL as of June 20, 2023.
We are grateful for over 50 youth who have signed up to be part this pilot program. We need adult volunteers to lead projects with youth especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 AM to 3 PM, now through August 4. Email us to express interest.

Cost
Days of Service are free for volunteers to participate in. If you or your group are financially able to support free programs like this, there is a suggested donation of $100 per group (for leaders) and $10 per youth, $25 per adult to help cover SSP’s costs. Donations can be made when signing up for the Day of Service.
Covid-19 Safety
SSP’s Covid Safety Requirements for in-person service, developed by SSP’s Medical Advisory Council, to keep SSP community partners, volunteers, and staff healthy and safe:
- Screen for any exposure to a positive case within 10 days, COVID-19 symptoms, or don’t feel well. Please stay home if this is the case.
- Negative COVID-19 test required to participate. Test before heading to the work site (preferred using at-home antigen rapid tests that morning), or tests will be available first thing at the work site.
- All Day of Service volunteers are encouraged but not required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a bivalent vaccine.
