You’re Invited!
We’re so excited to share details about our upcoming 50th Celebration weekend in Sacramento! You’re invited to join fellow SSP supporters and partners for festivities, from Friday 10/24 at 4 pm through Sunday 10/26 at noon. The main event will be the Celebration Party, Saturday, 10/25 from 5 to 9 pm, at The Garden at the Line – take a tour from Addison DaDeppo, staff alum and Celebration Lead. The Celebration Party is a ticketed event, but other weekend events are free to attend! Almost 200 community partners, youth and adult volunteers, staff alumni, and donors already have their tickets. Please join us in celebrating SSP’s big milestone!
Celebration Party: Saturday 10/25, 5-9 pm
The party will feature fun for all ages including a time capsule, photo booth, yard games, songtime, and stories curated by decade. The event will both honor SSP’s history and highlight how SSP is launching into the future:
- 1970s: Rev. Floyd McKeithen, Co-Founder
- 1980s: Rev. Jonathan Chute, former Site Developer & Director
- 1990s: Rev. Paige Eaves, former Executive Director
- 2000s: Rick Eaton, former Executive Director
- 2010s: Silver Nez Perry, Diné community liaison
- 2020 to 2025: Dani Berg, Youth Advisory Council and staff alum
Tickets are $75 per adult (21+), $25 per youth or young adult (under 21), and kids 10 and under are free! Each ticket includes dinner (kids eat for free), and adult tickets include two drink tickets. Reduced-price scholarship tickets are also available to make this event accessible to everyone. Get your tickets today, and invite your SSP friends to join you!

- Happy hour next door at King Cong Brewing Company
- Saturday 9 am – 1 pm:
- Day of Service and lunch with a community garden partner
- Saturday 5 – 9 pm:
- 50th Celebration Party!
- Sunday 7 am – noon:
- 50 minutes for 50 years walk/run at California State Capitol Park
- SSP church service: St. Mark’s UMC, Loomis FUMC, and others!

Lodging Options
- Hotel: Thanks to staff alum Jacob White who works at Offsite, SSP has a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Sacramento Downtown – Arena, just three miles from Friday’s festivities near SSP’s HQ, and six miles from Saturday’s party. Both king and two double bed rooms are available. Book your room now. Let us know after you’ve booked a room and we’ll add it to our block.
- Hostel: Limited space is available at the HI Sacramento Hostel, ¾ of a mile from the hotel. SSP has three dorm rooms reserved for Friday night and the entire hostel for Saturday night. The cost is $160 for both nights, or $100 for just Saturday, including transportation throughout the weekend. Reserve a bed when purchasing tickets.
