Sierra Service Project Programs

Group singing and dancing in Klamath, CA Summer Program
Church youth groups from all over the western states travel to one of the summer sites for an unforgettable week of serving, learning, worship and fellowship.  We do repair work on primarily homes in the communities we serve.  The type of work ranges from roofing and building wheelchair ramps to drywall repairs and painting.  No construction experience is needed, but you’ll be amazed at all of the work that our youth teams complete.
Youth mortaring bricks in Honduras Central American Program
Sierra Service Project has sent teams to serve and learn in Central America since 2003. These are challenging, life-changing and extremely rewarding experiences for mature young people eager to grow in faith and understanding. These projects focus on social justice; participants immerse themselves in the culture of Honduras and Guatemala, working alongside community members in both rural and urban settings.
Youth caulking new siding at Yes to College Weekend of Service
Sierra Service Project will be offering two Weekend of Service sessions this winter in Sacramento. In November of 2011, a successful pilot program was held in Portland, Oregon and we are continuing this in April and May 2012. Like our summer projects, these weekends combined fun fellowship with youth from different youth groups with a challenging, service project and a strong focus on how we can all live out our faith in the world around us.

Being a member of the SSP staff is unlike any other summer job you will ever have.  Our staffers live and work together for nine intense weeks, running all aspects of six weeks of summer service for over 300 youth. Although each position has unique responsibilities, all staff members share the responsibility for safeguarding the health and safety of all campers and are expected to model the Christian spirit of love and service at all times.
