- Appalachia Service Project. Sierra Service Project was patterned after ASP. They provide wonderful youth and adult service camps throughout the Appalachian region.
- The Peace Corps. Volunteers serve in 77 countries and live, learn, and work with a community overseas for 27 months.
- Americorps. The Corporation for National and Community Service operates VISTA and the National Civilian Community Corps. Often called "the domestic Peace Corps."
- Pacific Institute for Community Organization Faith-Based Community Organizing is a method of working with faith communities to address the problems and concerns of their communities, and in turn, vitalize and strengthen the life of congregations.
