SSP is excited to announce the five project locations for the summer of 2012. Over 1,700 participants are signed up to attend next summer. It is not too late to register. After successfully piloting a Weekend of Service program in Sacramento during early 2011, SSP is excited to announce two weekend sessions during January and February of 2012. This will be followed in April and May by two Weekend of Service dates in Portland, Oregon. SSP hosted our first-ever Portland Weekend of Service project in November 2011. Volunteers from three youth groups constructed stairs, compost bins and raised garden beds at the Northeast Emergency Food Program. Registrations are due of the 1st day of the month that the weekend is being held (i.e. January 1st for the January Weekends.) SSP’s staff applications are now available for the 2012 summer. The entire process is through an online application. Working on staff is a demanding and highly rewarding job. Please contact us if you have any questions about the application process; applications for new staff are due February 15th, returning staff March 1st. Relevance X 2012 will be in Las Vegas, NV February 17 - 19, 2012. This conference is a movement that focuses on empowering young adults (18-35) through worship, service, uniting voices, and actively creating change in our communities. Learn more about Relevance X. Oportunities for Campus Ministries With SSP SSP offers challenging service opportunities for Campus Ministries throughout the year, serving communities in Central America and in South Los Angeles. During the summer, teams of young adults build homes in Honduras, and learn about social justice and participate in service projects in Guatemala. Learn more about our projects in Central America. Campus Ministries also serve during winter and spring breaks at our South Los Angeles site. These weeks include repair projects for elders and community centers in need and social learning about the surrounding communities and city.
