Other Ways to Support SSP!

Staff In Training (SIT) Program

SSP's staff-in-training (SIT) program provides potential staff members with a preview of the life of an SSP summer staffer.  Each SIT spends one week on an SSP project site rotating through the various staff positions of a camp, trying each one on for size. Individuals who participate in our SIT program do so voluntarily without pay and are responsible for getting themselves to and from their prospective site.

Who should consider being an SIT for a week?

Anyone with a serious interest in being on staff at SSP should consider signing up for an SIT spot the summer after graduation.  Even if you are going to SSP as a camper with your youth group, you can still be an SIT on a different week.  The SIT week provides a transition from the experience of SSP as a camper to the very different responsibilities of an SSP staff member.

It's free!  As an SIT, you do not have to pay the regular camper fee.

Eligibility.  To apply, you must be at least 18 years old by June, 2008 or have graduated from high school.  If you have a question about whether you are eligible, give us a call.

To apply, click here and fill out the on-line application form.  We will contact you in May.
